‘The Rural Roadrunner’, Wexford Local Developments Rural Transport Service, celebrates 10 years in operation!

The ‘Rural Roadrunner’ delivered by Wexford Local Development is celebrating 10 years in operation on 23rd May 2013. ‘Rural Roadrunner’ has 20 routes in operation, delivering 64 services per week, offering a wide service area from Gorey in the north of the county to Carnsore Point in the south of the county.

Since its inception in May 2003, under the auspices of the Rural Transport Programme, the ‘Rural Roadrunner’ has carried almost 319,000 passengers from their homes to shopping, hospital appointments, social activities, community groups and school, with a total of 42,575 passengers in 2012 alone.

Our bus stops at designated points in local villages and pre-booked pick-ups can be made along the route. For increased convenience we can deviate short distances from the route to pick people up at their home if possible, but door to door pick-ups must be arranged in advance.

All buses comply with best practice safety standards including safety belts as standard, with several of our routes served by buses which are wheelchair accessible.

We accept Free Travel Passes on all routes and fares are as follows:

Standard Fare: €3 Single Journey/€5 Return;
