In September 2017, Wexford Local Development (WLD) secured funding from Volunteer Ireland for the establishment of a Volunteering Information Service (VIS) for County Wexford. Volunteer Ireland is the national volunteer development agency and a support body for countywide Volunteer Centres and Volunteering Information Services in Ireland.

Volunteer Centres (VC): Offer Drop in Services, appointments, training, information provision, consultation, training and Garda Vetting.

Volunteering Information Services (VIS): Are similar to Volunteer Centres the difference between the two is that there are very limited recourses with no walk in location with full time staff. Instead, this is done through the website.
