We work at local level to build the practical skills and capacity of groups, volunteers and committees who operate in specific geographical communities, as well as groups who benefit specific communities such as people with disabilities, lone parents, new communities/migrants, Travellers, young people, disadvantaged women and the unemployed. We also work with groups advocating on equality issues.
We have a dedicated Community Development Project Officer working in each of the four districts who assist groups in a range of ways, including networking with other groups via our Community Team networks in each of the four districts & having their voice heard on decision making structures. Equality and social inclusion are our core values and we concentrate all resources with groups who need support the most.

Practical Community Development Supports available:

  • Committee skills
  • Formulating a constitution and action plan
  • Carrying out needs analysis and research in your community
  • Assistance with fundraising and grant applications
