Over the last few weeks, a number of people and groups in Piercestown have been working hard clearing areas and planting flowers to make the village even more colourful and attractive.
Piercestown Men’s Breakfast club, along with Residents groups, Girls Guides, young people in the area and long-term volunteers have all played their part in the project. The local school, the church, local shops and housing areas have all been busy planting flowers in planters or in hanging baskets.
The raised bed, for example was a community effort. Piercestown Mens Breakfast group cleared away the weeds on the bank, built the raised bed and set it into the bank. The young people in the area filled the bed with soil and compost and the Girl Guides filled it with flowers.
