Scurri was founded by Rory O’Connor in 2011 and began its operations as a team of 3 in a small Duncannon office. Wexford Local Development assisted Scurri with funding for their start up under the LEADER programme. That support from WLD has been hugely successful as today the company employs 23 from its head office in Wexford town and is growing at an incredible rate.
Scurri is just after signing a massive deal that will see them manage over 50 million transactions for one of the biggest carriers in Ireland, Fastway, over the next 5 years. Fuelled by the growth in online shopping in the UK and Ireland, the company has offices in London and the Scurri technology is used to manage the deliveries for online retailers including Vision Direct, Amazon, ASOS, Missguided, Boohoo and Zara.
Minister Brendan Howlin and Seamus Doran from Wexford Local Development recently visited Scurri’s head office to meet with management to discuss the company’s progress to date and future expansion plans. The meeting included video-conference with Scurri’s representatives in London and Athens.
Wexford Local Development are extremely impressed with the success of Scurri to date. The growth in 4 years from an initial office of 3 people in Duncannon to 23 people now employed internationally shows the potential job creation that e-commerce can bring to rural communities in Co.
