At the invitation of the Orieachtas Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality, the Cornmarket Project made a written submission on January 10th 2014 on the proposal to introduce the Community Courts model to Ireland. Paul Delaney, Coordinator of the Cornmarket Project said he welcomes the discussion at government level concerning Community Courts. It is a more effective way of dealing with offenders in a problem solving manner and gives more voice to local people in how to respond more effectively to anti social problems in their local communities, he stated.
