Wexford Local Development would like to invite members of Community & Voluntary groups in the Wexford Area to avail of our FREE Workshop on Governance on the evening of June 1st, in Coolcotts Community Centre, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
Introduction to Good Governance Workshop Wexford
We have organised this Workshop in response to feedback from local community groups who want to improve the skills and capacity of their committees and boards of management.
Staff of Wexford Local Development will be available to give follow-up supports for groups who would like to further develop their Governance capacity, including adoption of the recently developed Governance Code (more info on http://www.governancecode.ie/)
The benefits of adopting the Governance Code are manifold and include:
- Appeal to current and potential funders
- Avoid and minimise risk to the group
- Reduce inefficiencies and costs across your organisation
- Choose a Governance code that’s right for you – whether your organisation is big or small; new or around for a long time
This Workshop is part of a series of capacity building actions directly focusing on developing strong, skilled and sustainable committees across the voluntary sector in Co. Wexford, particularly targeting communities where need for assistance is greatest. When planning these workshops, we are directly responding to what communities are telling us they need to enable them to develop local projects and actions.
