A Dublin Street Artist, Fink, and a set of Enniscorthy students defy the weather and floods in Enniscorthy to produce a mural with a special message as part of the WLD Get Vocal Programme.

Eight members of the Transition Year at Coláiste Bride, Enniscorthy have combined with Wexford Local Development, Co Wexford Age Equality Network, Enniscorthy Tidy Towns and Older & Bolder to make a big statement in spray paint.
The Mural is located at the Waterfront Swimming Pool in Templeshannon, Enniscorthy.
In June 2012, Older & Bolder with the help of street artist Fink, graffiti sprayed the message “I want to grow old at home” on to a twenty foot hoarding just down the road from Croke Park. It’s a variation of the sentiments which older people expressed to Older & Bolder and Co Wexford Age Equality Network have been campaigning locally around the county to bring this message to policy makers, elected representatives, service providers as well as the wider community.

In December 2012, Transition Year students from Coláiste Bride took part in an intergenerational workshop with older people in the Riverside Park Hotel, Enniscorthy. This workshop was facilitated by Wexford Local Development’s Get Vocal project, together with Older & Bolder. During the course of the workshop, younger and older people discussed ways they could work in solidarity to make Ireland a better place to grow older in. The idea of the Street Art Project appealed to both the students and members of Co Wexford Age Equality Network and they decided to collaborate to bring this message to the streets of Enniscorthy.
